Dr. Denis Connor, Chairman of the Board
Dr. Denis Connor was the founding Chief Executive Officer and President of the Company from 1998 until 2002. He was the CEO of Angstrom Power Inc., a micro fuel cell company, from 2003 to 2005. From 1990 to 1998 he consulted to technology start-ups, serving on the boards of a number of such companies. From 1988 to 1990 he headed the Science Council of British Columbia. From 1976 to 1988 he was with MacDonald Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. in various executive roles from Vice-President, Engineering to Executive Vice-President, Business Development. Early in his career, he worked at the Bell Laboratories of AT&T and at Northern Telecom's research labs. He chairs the BC Hydrogen Highway Steering Committee, and is a member of the Premier's Technology Council, an advisory group to the Premier of British Columbia. He was a member of the Government of Canada Blue Ribbon Panel on Sustainable Energy Science and Technology Priorities, a founding director of Hydrogen and Fuel Cells Canada, and a director of Angstrom Power and Epic Data International Inc. (a TSX listed company). Dr. Connor is a professional engineer and holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of British Columbia.
Jonathan Wilkinson, Director, President and CEO
Mr. Wilkinson has been the President and Chief Executive Officer of QuestAir Technologies since 2002. From 1999 to 2002, he was the Chief Operating Officer of the Company and Vice President, Compact Gas Systems. Prior to joining QuestAir, Mr. Wilkinson spent several years as Manager with the Toronto office of Bain and Company, one of the world's leading strategy-consulting firms. He also has previous experience in government service having worked as a constitutional negotiator, a federal-provincial relations specialist, and a Special Advisor to a provincial Premier. A Rhodes Scholar, Mr. Wilkinson has obtained degrees from the University of Saskatchewan, Oxford University, and McGill University. He has also completed the Executive Development Program at the Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario. Mr. Wilkinson sits on the Board of Fuel Cells Canada, the Executive Committee of the Board and the Board of the BC Technology Industries Association and on the Advisory Board of the BC Power Technology Alliance. Mr. Wilkinson is also a member of the Campaign Cabinet for the United Way of the Lower Mainland.
Sherry Tryssenaar, Director, Vice President, Finance & Administration and CFO
Ms. Tryssenaar is Vice President, Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer of QuestAir Technologies. Prior to joining the Company in 2005, Ms. Tryssenaar was the Chief Financial Officer of OncoGenex Technologies Inc., a private clinical-stage biotechnology company based in Vancouver. Ms. Tryssenaar’s prior experience includes serving as Director, Corporate Finance at RBC Technology Ventures, a strategic investment arm of the RBC Financial Group, and as Vice President, Investments of Quorum Funding Corporation, a venture capital management company based in Toronto. In addition, Ms. Tryssenaar is the volunteer President and Chair of the Board of the Vancouver Chapter of Dress For Success, a registered charity. Ms. Tryssenaar holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (first class honours) from Simon Fraser University, and a M.Sc. in Economics from the London School of Economics, where she attended as a Commonwealth Scholar.
R. Terry Blaney, Director
Mr. Blaney has 29 years of experience with various divisions of the Shell Group in Canada, Asia, and the USA, most recently as Director, Downstream Business, Shell (China) Limited. Mr. Blaney has extensive experience in the refining, logistics, marketing and retail sales sectors of the oil industry, and has held operational and senior managerial roles in Shell Canada Limited, Shell (China) Limited, Shell Oil Products East, and the Shell Odessa Refining Company. Previously, Mr. Blaney was Vice Chairman and a director of the Sinopec and Shell (Jiangsu) Petroleum Marketing Company Ltd., and a director for Shell Canada Oil Products Limited. He also served as President of RMO Site Management Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Shell Canada Limited, and as President and CEO of the Shell Odessa Refining Company. Mr. Blaney left Shell in 2007 and is principal of RTB Holdings Inc., providing downstream oil business consultancy.
Keith D. McLeod, Director
Mr. McLeod is Senior Vice President of Operations for MARSULEX Inc, a Canadian TSX-listed public company which provides sulphur-enhanced chemicals and industrial services, including environmental compliance solutions, to oil refiners and other industrial customers worldwide. Mr. McLeod has extensive management experience within the chemical industry in manufacturing, engineering & construction, and research & product development. Mr. McLeod has BSc and MSc degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alberta, and is a registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Alberta. He has completed the Ivey Executive Development program at the University of Western Ontario and the Advanced Management Program at the Wharton Business School of the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. McLeod has previously served on the Boards of the Canadian Chemicals Producers' Association and the Chlorine Institute, and as a Director and Board Chairman in the not-for-profit sector. He is a member of the Canadian Institute of Corporate Directors.
Michael Rosenberg, Director
Mr. Rosenberg is Director, Corporate Development & Strategy of Ballard Power Systems Inc., a developer, manufacturer and marketer of proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cell products headquartered in Burnaby, a suburb of Vancouver, British Columbia. Mr. Rosenberg’s responsibilities include merger and acquisitions, development of the corporate strategy and business development activities in emerging markets. Mr. Rosenberg has been with Ballard for over eight years and has held numerous positions including Treasurer, Director, Corporate Relations and Director, Corporate Development. Prior to joining Ballard, Mr. Rosenberg was a senior Treasury Manager with Genentech, Inc., and has held various positions in finance, environmental project management and engineering with McKesson Corporation and Exxon Mobil Company USA. Mr. Rosenberg holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Colorado School of Mines and an MBA from University of California at Berkeley.
John Shakeshaft, Director
Mr. Shakeshaft is chairman of Ludgate Environmental, an AIM listed investment company specialising in the cleantech sector, also of Valiance Special Opportunities Fund of Funds and Co-Investment Fund and investment committee chair and advisory director of Corestone, AG, a Zug based fiduciary investment manager owned by Robeco. He is also a non-executive director and chair of the audit committee of Tele2 AB, a telecom company listed on the Stockholm Bourse, of Carnegie, AB, an investment bank listed on the Stockholm Bourse, of TEB, NV, a trade finance bank owned by BNP Paribas and the Colakoglu Group in Amsterdam and of TT Electronics plc, an electronic sensors manufacturing company listed on the London Stock Exchange. Mr. Shakeshaft has over 20 years corporate finance experience in the City of London and held senior positions at Lazard, Barings and Morgan Stanley. He is also an external member of the audit committee of Cambridge University, a trustee of the Institute of Historical Research, London University and chairman of The Bush Theatre. He was educated at Cambridge, Princeton and London Universities. |
